Free Yes or No Tarot

Type your question, then draw one card. In seconds you will see whether your yes or no tarot points to a yes, a no or a maybe, with the reasoning behind that card.

Closed and specific: something that can be answered yes or no.

How this yes or no tarot works

The code behind this page shuffles all 78 Rider-Waite-Smith cards for real, every time you press the button. It draws one card, always upright: there are no reversed cards here.

Every card carries a traditional meaning. This page turns that meaning into a simple verdict, yes, no or maybe, along with a short reason for why that card points that way.

How to phrase your question

Yes or no tarot works best with closed, specific questions, something that can genuinely be answered with a yes or a no. The more precise the question, the more useful the card becomes.

A question that works: "Is this a good week to ask for a shift change?" A question that does not: "What is going to happen with my job?", because it has no real yes or no answer.

  • Closed question: only yes or no fits.
  • Specific question: one fact, not a whole topic.
  • Your own question: about your choices, not someone else's.

Why the answer is sometimes maybe

Not every card gives a sharp answer. Some, like the Moon, the Hanged Man, the Two of Swords or Temperance, speak of waiting, doubt or balance: the card itself says the moment is not settled yet.

A maybe is not a glitch in the reading. It is how tarot admits that some factors are still undecided, often because they depend on you.

What the paid reading adds

This free tool draws one random card and gives a generic verdict based on its traditional meaning. It knows nothing about your actual situation.

The paid reading at Velotit goes further: an AI, Claude, by Anthropic, reads the card together with your question and your context, and writes an interpretation meant for you, not a stock phrase. It can also turn a maybe into a clearer "not yet".

What this tarot is, and is not

This draw is entertainment and symbolic tradition, not science or a guaranteed prediction. The randomness comes from the code: the deck genuinely shuffles at every reading, nothing is precomputed.

Treat it as a starting point for thinking things through, not as a closed answer about what you should do.

Frequently asked questions

Is this free yes or no tarot really random?

Yes. The code shuffles all 78 cards at the exact moment you ask and picks one at random, with no hidden order. There is no fixed card waiting for you and nothing is precomputed, so two people asking the same question can still get different cards.

Why does the card always come out upright, never reversed?

This tool only uses upright cards to keep the verdict simple: yes, no or maybe. Reversed cards add nuance and alternative readings that do not fit a quick answer like the one this free page is built to give.

Can I ask again if I do not like the answer?

You can try again, though tradition says not to repeat the same question over and over hoping for a different result. If you get a maybe, it usually works better to rephrase the question more specifically before drawing another card.

Does this replace a full reading?

No. It gives a generic verdict from a single card, without knowing anything about your situation. A paid reading adds your real context and an interpretation written for you by an AI, rather than a phrase meant for anyone.
