Online palm reading: a guide to lines and mounts
You send a photo of your open palm and receive a written reading for your hand: what your main lines suggest, what the mounts add, and how to take a photo that shows enough to read.
How an online palm reading works
An online palm reading replaces the face-to-face session with a photo. You upload an image of your open palm, the reading examines it, and you receive a text describing your main lines, your mounts and how they relate to each other in your particular hand. Everything happens on the website, with no appointment and no travel.
Palmistry, the reading of the lines of the hand, is an interpretive tradition with a long history in Europe, India and China. It starts from a simple observation: the shape, depth and path of the creases differ from one person to another, and each feature is traditionally linked to an area of life. The reading arranges those associations and applies them to your case.
It helps to be clear about what this is. It is a symbolic reading meant for reflection on your present moment, not a medical diagnosis or a guaranteed prediction. What you receive is a text written from your photo, designed to be read slowly.
The four main lines
Every reading starts from four lines. The table sums up where each one sits and what it is traditionally linked to; the full reading puts them in relation to each other, because a single line is rarely read on its own.
| Line | Where it is | Traditionally associated with |
|---|---|---|
| Life | Curves around the base of the thumb, between thumb and index finger, toward the wrist. | Vitality and the stages of life. |
| Heart | The topmost line on the palm, just below the fingers, running across the hand. | Emotional life and how you relate to others. |
| Head | Crosses the middle of the palm, starting near where the life line begins. | How you think and make decisions. |
| Fate | Runs vertically from the base of the palm toward the middle finger, when present. | Direction in life and sense of purpose. |
The mounts of the hand
The mounts are the rounded, cushioned areas at the base of each finger and beside the thumb. In a photo they appear as soft swellings, and their size and firmness help complete the reading.
A well-developed mount is not better or worse than a flat one. Traditionally it shows where energy gathers most easily, and the reading treats it as a tendency, never as a verdict.
- Mount of Venus: base of the thumb. Affection, sensuality and vitality.
- Mount of Jupiter: below the index finger. Ambition, confidence and leadership.
- Mount of Saturn: below the middle finger. Responsibility, seriousness and reflection.
- Mount of the Sun: below the ring finger. Creativity, recognition and self-expression.
- Mount of Mercury: below the little finger. Communication, business and skill with words.
- Mount of the Moon: opposite the thumb, on the edge toward the wrist. Imagination and intuition.
- Mount of Mars: between Jupiter and the heart line. Courage and determination.
Which hand to read and how to take a good photo
The reading is based on your dominant hand, the one you write with. In the Western tradition it shows what you do with your potential, while the other hand is often associated with what was inherited. Some palm readers look at both hands; here we ask for one photo of the dominant hand, so the reading has a clear starting point.
A good photo makes a real difference to what can be read. These are the points that help most:
- Natural side light, such as from a window, with no flash
- Hand open and flat, fingers relaxed and slightly apart
- Full frame: palm, wrist and fingertips
- Camera parallel to the palm, about 30 centimetres away
- No filters, black and white or editing
What the personalised reading includes and what it cannot do
The paid reading is a text written for your hand. It goes through the four lines and the mounts, connects them and answers the question of what your hand says as a whole. It is written from the photo you upload, with no one watching it live, and it appears in your user area next to the photo, usually within minutes of payment.
Your photo is kept in your private area together with the result, so you can consult both again. It is not published or shared.
There are also limits. The reading cannot:
- Be certain about faint or barely marked lines; in that case it says so rather than inventing detail
- Judge the texture, elasticity or warmth of the skin, which only a hand held in front of the reader can show
- Give exact dates, health diagnoses or predictions about money, love or work
- Replace a medical, legal or financial consultation, or the decisions that are yours to make
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a good camera for an online palm reading?
No. A phone camera is enough if the light is natural and the photo is in focus. Framing and light matter more than resolution.
Can I send a photo of both hands?
The service is designed around one photo, that of your dominant hand. A single clear starting point makes the reading easier to follow.
What if my life line looks broken or doubled?
That is common. Broken or double lines are read as part of the whole hand, not as a fault. The reading describes what can be seen and relates it to the rest of the palm.
How long does my reading take to arrive?
It is usually available within a few minutes of payment, in your user area. At busy times it can take a little longer.
