Nine is near-completion and final waiting. Ten closes a full cycle: an ending that seeds a new start.
How to read the number in an actual spread
If a three-card spread shows the Three of Cups, the Three of Swords, and The Empress (Major Arcana III), the energy of three dominates: something is gestating, or a third person or element is at play. Noticing that numerical repetition enriches the reading. The same applies when multiple fives appear: a clear signal of turbulence or ongoing change.
