Major Arcana represent archetypal forces, fundamental life stages, and energies beyond everyday circumstances. When they dominate a reading, the message is that the situation being asked about is not a routine problem: it is a real turning point. It does not mean crisis: The Sun, The Wheel, or The Lovers are positive Major Arcana. It means what is at stake has medium-to-long-term consequences, not just immediate ones.
How to interpret a reading heavy with Major Arcana
First, identify which Major Arcana appeared and in which positions. A Major Arcana in the obstacle position carries different weight than the same card in the final outcome position. Second, look for the narrative arc: are the Major Arcana describing an ongoing process (The Hanged Man, Death, The Sun), or a decision point (Justice, The Lovers)? Third, do not over-interpret each Major Arcana in isolation: their real meaning comes from the spread as a whole.

When there is a high concentration of Major Arcana, the most revealing position is usually the Major Arcana that appears at the center of the spread (position 1 or 6 in a Celtic Cross, the central card in cross-shaped spreads). That card sets the frame for the entire reading. The other Major Arcana support, nuance, or contradict what that central card establishes.
